The "JOURNEYS INTO AMERICAN INDIAN TERRITORY" program includes an introduction to anthropology and ethnographic fieldwork by anthropologist Robert Vetter, who specialized in Native American studies in his field of anthropology. This is followed by an assembly presentation on Northeast Woodland Indians (representative of this area of the country) using interactive explanations of museum artifacts and a walk through a model longhouse. The presenter in this section of the program demonstrated tools and methodology used by each of the sexes in their work of hunting and gathering, cooking and making clothes with a particular emphasis on tasks assigned to Native American children.
