RMS Principal Andrea Pekar 9/11 AM Announcement
Patriot Day is marked every year on September 11, in memory of the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks of September 11, 2001.
Most of you, the 7th and 8th graders here at the RMS, were not even born yet. However, it is a day in American History that your parents and family members who were alive will never forget. It’s important, as future leaders not only of this community but perhaps of our country, you learn and reflect on our history.
September 11 is one of our worst days, but it brought out the best in us.
It unified us as a country and showed our charitable instincts and
reminded us of what we stood for and stand for.
America is stronger than ever. We will forever remember those we lost on September 11, 2001. In honoring their memory, we will remain true to our commitment to freedom and democracy.
Think about this daily as we continue to become better individuals
and make a better nation.
